Join Matthew Collins, a Forensic Scientist for the Washington State Patrol to enjoy a presentation describing the basics of forensic DNA testing, what the Washington State Patrol DNA section oversees, and an overview of forensic genetic genealogy (FGG). This event is brought to you in partnership with a local agency, Heritage Quest Research Library. Those attending via the Sumner Pierce County Library in person, and anyone else interested, are welcome to visit HQRL after the presentation for a special tour.
About Matthew Collins:
He has worked in the DNA section of the Crime Laboratory Division for almost five years and is an expert on forensic DNA testing. Over his career, he has completed hundreds of cases, processing and analyzing evidence for various violent and non-violent crimes.
