Join us for a program that celebrates the rich creative and cultural diversity in Pierce County Communities through arts and culture experiences.
Join Kareem Dixon of Dula's Neighborhood for an interactive art session on P.E.A.C.E. Positive Elevation Always Creates Elevation, one of the sessions from the A Reason to Survive (ARTS) ® Seminar Series.
During this session, participants will reflect and create an "Elevation Map" with colors and symbols to represent their personal motivation. As a group, participants will collaborate on an “Energy Canvas”, each contributing an element that represents positivity and growth.
A Reason to Survive (ARTS) ® Seminar Series is an immersive creative experience designed to introduce participants to innovative and unique coping skills that foster resilience during times of adversity and challenges. With mind-mapping art activities, critical discussion, and hands-on artistic exercises, the workshop creates a safe and supportive space where individuals explore mental health awareness, mindfulness, and personal empowerment. It uses Social Emotional Learning and artistic creativity to provide a dynamic approach to learning and building strong relationships with both self and others. By engaging in these creative practices, participants develop new coping mechanisms and leave the workshop with personally meaningful artwork pieces.
