Introduction to Ukulele
A Teen Summer Reading Program
Wednesday, July 15
11:00am - 12:30pm
Learn how to properly hold a ukulele, hold a pick, and position your hands and body to strum simple chords. Turn the chords into a simple song (or two).
Discover the joy of playing the ukulele in this beginner-friendly workshop! Jeff Saxon, a local singer, songwriter, guitarist, and ukulele player, guides participants through the essentials, including how to hold and strum the uke (with or without a pick), fret notes clearly, and tune the instrument. You’ll learn four easy chords and use them to play one or two familiar songs. Teens only, registration required.
