Bonney Lake Meeting RoomExplore the world's desert and beaches through sand! Participants will get hands-on with science while exploring sand from around the world using microscopes, magnifying glasses and other instruments.
Discover the hidden worlds beneath our feet with Exploring Sand, a hands‑on science program led by Elise Lattuca of Grain2Scope. Participants examine sand samples from around the globe, using magnification tools to reveal surprising colors, textures, and tiny geological treasures invisible to the naked eye. As kids and families compare samples and make observations, they learn how sand forms, what it’s made of, and what these grains can tell us about the places they come from. This engaging program blends curiosity, geology, and close‑up discovery—inviting learners of all ages to see ordinary sand in extraordinary new ways.
