Steilacoom Library Craft & Activity Family Time

Outdoor Crafts & Activities

Join the Steilacoom Youth Services Specialist for an hour of crafts & activities outdoors, socially distanced and weather permitting.

Join us on Thursdays outside at the Steilacoom Library for crafting & activities with the family! Each program will be a different craft or activity. All supplies are provided. If a program is cancelled due to weather, Take & Make kits can be provided upon request. 

Birdhouse Painting: Thursday, March 24th from 4:00 – 5:00 pm

- Paint a wooden birdhouse and provide a cozy home for native birds! Learn about native birds, nesting, and how to care for your bird house. 

Kite Making: Thursday, April 7th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm

- Construct a kite from household items and then test it out, if wind permits. See how high you can get your kite!

Get Growing: Thursday, April 28th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm

- Plant Marigold seeds at the library and learn about growing flowers. Take your potted plant home and track its growth.  

Slime Time!: Thursday, May 5th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm

- Make some slime! Attention: Slime uses Borax and requires parent or caregiver assistance.

These programs will be held outside near the entrance of the Steilacoom Library, so plan accordingly. Participants should prepare for being in the sun/the current weather or prepare to dress warmer for colder weather. In the event of inclement weather (excessive heat, smoke, rain, etc. the event will be canceled).
