A time for families and kids ages 5 & up to get together outdoors at the library to craft, enjoy activities, and play games. Parents and caregivers welcomed!
Join us on Thursdays outside at the Steilacoom Library for crafting & activities with the family! Suggested age group is for school-age children and up. Each program will be a different craft or activity. All supplies are provided. If a program is cancelled due to weather, Take & Make kits can be provided upon request (not all programs can be converted into a Take & Make. Call the Steilacoom library to confirm: 253-548-3313.)
Papier-Mache Hot Air Balloons: Part 1 - Thursday, August 4th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm
- Start a papier-mache hot air balloon using old newspaper. Take home your papier-mache craft to paint at home, or leave at the library to dry, and come back on August 11th at 4 pm to paint and construct your hot air balloon. ***Be sure to sign up for both Part 1 and Part 2!

-Paint your papier-mache hot air balloon and basket!
Bubble Madness: Thursday, August 18th from 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Make bubble wands and enjoy a day of bubbles!
SLIME Time!: Thursday, August 25th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm
- Make your own slime!
These programs will be held outside near the entrance of the Steilacoom Library, so plan accordingly. Participants should prepare for being in the sun/the current weather or prepare to dress warmer for colder weather. In the event of inclement weather (excessive heat, smoke, rain, etc. the event will be cancelled).
***Family Outdoor Crafts & Activities will pause for the fall and winter. Look out for future Take & Makes!
