Master Gardener Judy Thierry helps you extend summer and plan for fall.

Join fellow gardeners! Come ready to learn and share whether you are a novice or an experienced master gardener. Apartment balcony to community garden plot, full sun to partial shade considerations for midsummer planting will be addressed. Seed germination (whether direct sowing or growing  “starts” indoors) is surprisingly easy. Observing, managing and tending basic starts will be addressed. The talk will complete with attention given to the bees, flies, beetles, bats, moths, wasps and butterflies that are our pollinators.

Judy Thierry is a Master Gardener volunteer with the Pierce County Master Gardener Foundation part of the Washington State University agriculture extension. She is a member of the University Place Community Garden on the Evergreen Primary School grounds. She enjoys soil building, vermiculture, growing perennials and annuals with vegetables to support pollinators.
