Animal Masks with José Orantes

A STEAM Kids Discovery Lab

Create your own wearable artwork in the Fun Animal Hats Workshop led by Guatemalan artist José Orantes.

Create your own wearable artwork in the Fun Animal Hats Workshop led by Guatemalan artist José Orantes. Participants receive an 11"x17" cardstock design featuring the signature traits of a chosen animal, then follow José’s guidance to color, cut, and transform it into a three‑dimensional hat. As kids build their creations, they practice fine motor skills, explore artistic expression, and take pride in crafting a unique hat that reflects their creativity. This hands‑on workshop is lively, engaging, and perfect for young artists who love projects they can wear and show off.
